Join us for a special presentation by Rana Segal, board member of the Chicago Women's History Center, as part of our Chicago Women's Suffrage event on August 22.
Rana will share On the Wings of Change: A Chicago Suffrage Mural, a 56-minute documentary that tells the story of ten Chicago suffragists honored in a mural at Harrison and Wabash in Chicago. Through the creation of the mural, the film explores the lives, struggles, and determination of the women who fought for voting rights from 1869 through the ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920. Co-directed with Laurie Little, the documentary is a work in progress.
Following the screening, Rana will discuss the making of the film and the importance of preserving and sharing the stories of Chicago's women who helped shape history.
