END-OF-YEAR GIVING
Preserving Lombard’s history is a community effort, and thanks to supporters like you we are able to care for our archives, collections, and historic spaces and share stories that connect us to our past. As we close out another meaningful year, we invite you to take part in the Lombard Historical Society’s End-of-Year Giving Campaign, launching on Giving Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
Your support keeps history alive. It helps us protect the stories that shaped Lombard and share them in ways that inspire curiosity, connection, and pride. We are sincerely grateful for your commitment to LHS.
As you plan your year-end giving, would you make a gift to support the work you make possible at LHS?
Together in 2025, We’ve Accomplished so Much!
This year, we hosted over 100 programs at our historic sites and through community outreach, engaging more than 11,000 visitors of all ages.
We also introduced two new exhibitions:
Pioneering Women at the Peck Homestead, celebrating the women who shaped the site through art, education, labor, and leadership.
Breaking the Mold, highlighting local changemakers whose creativity and courage impacted Lombard and beyond.
Preservation & Education, Working Hand in Hand
We’re improving how we care for Lombard’s history. Temporary storage used during the 2022 construction helped protect our collections, but we’ll begin transitioning to archival-quality boxes in 2026 to ensure long-term preservation.
We’re also expanding The HUB, our online collections database, with more photos, textiles, and artifacts, making Lombard’s stories accessible anywhere.
Education continues to grow too! In 2025, we welcomed more school groups, strengthened partnerships with District 44, and hosted 180 Park District campers for hands-on history experiences—all discovering why local history matters.
WAYS TO GIVE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON TO LHS
MAKE AN END OF YEAR GIFT TO LHS
Your year-end gift helps us begin 2026, with strong momentum for preservation, education, and our National Register application for the Sheldon Peck Homestead.
We welcome year-end donations through December 31, but Giving Tuesday maximizes your impact. Donations made through Givebutter on December 2, benefit from matching support and fee-free giving, allowing more of your gift to directly support LHS.
WHY YOU SHOULD GIVE TO THE ENDOWMENT
Giving to the LHS Endowment Fund is a way to leave a legacy. Endowment gifts are invested and grow over time, providing reliable, sustainable income. It is a gift that continues working long after it is made and safeguarding Lombard’s history far into the future.
