The Lombard Historical Society is proud to present Mama Edie (EE-dee) McLoud Armstrong- the Singing, Signing, Bilingual, Storytelling, Percussion Playing Speech Pathologist. 50 Years Later: Where Are They Now? Celebrate your stories of life growing up in Lombard & the York Center Co-op as Mama Edie ties them to the power and wisdom of interactive folktales and songs.
Join us in-person at the Carriage House or Virutally via Zoom on February 3rd at 1pm to kick off Black History Month programing at the Lombard Historical Society. Mama Edie has connections to Lombard as well as will tell stories about her visits to family who lived in the York Center Co-Op.
She will lead us on a journey of storytelling guiding audiences to examine through their own stories what they appreciate about their city (wherever it is!) and how their lives are impacted by it. Audiences are encouraged to envision other possibilities and how they can empower themselves to make their visions happen.
This program is free but Registration required due to limited space for in-person and to receive the zoom link. The zoom link will be sent the week of the program.
