Located at 23 W Maple Street, the Victorian Cottage Museum highlights Lombard’s history as a bedroom community during the Victorian Era. Students will see the beginning of many technological advances we used today. We will also learn about the people who lived in this home and what their daily lives would have looked like.

Second-Fifth Grade: The Technology of the Victorian Era.

Many of the appliances we take for granted today were brand new in the Victorian Era! Students will tour the Victorian Cottage Museum and look at different appliances such as the telephone and washing machine to learn about their early beginnings. Students will be able to compare to the tools we use today. This tour is approximately 30 Min and cost $5 per student. Chaperones are free. Groups of 15 or less.

Sixth-Eighth Grade: Victorian Society

The daily lives of the Upper Middle Class in the Victorian Era look vastly similar yet very different to our own lives. Students will tour the Victorian Cottage and learn about the daily habits of Victorian life, including what their own lives might have looked like. This Tour is approximately 30 min and cost $5 per student. Chaperones are free. Groups of 15 or less.
