Power of Place: Celebrating America 250

  • Lombard Historical Society 23 West Maple Street Lombard, IL, 60148 United States (map)

What makes a place special? Is it the buildings, the people, or the stories that have been passed down through generations?

As our nation celebrates its 250th anniversary, the Lombard Historical Society invites you to explore the history of our community through Power of Place, a special exhibition highlighting the people, landmarks, and events that have shaped Lombard.

From its earliest settlers to the growth of the village we know today, discover how Lombard's story connects to the larger American experience. Through historic photographs, artifacts, and local stories, the exhibition explores how our community has changed over time while celebrating the places and traditions that continue to bring us together.

America's history isn't just found in textbooks or famous landmarks. It's right here in our own backyard.
