Barry Clyod
LHS is thrilled to welcome back Barry Cloyd to the Music on Maple Street Summer Concert Series! This year, Barry brings his captivating program, A Brief History of the Blues—a journey through one of the most powerful and enduring musical traditions in the world.
The blues wasn’t born solely in the Mississippi Delta or the backrooms of juke joints—it was born in the soul of humanity. In this unique performance, Barry traces the roots of the blues in both story and song, traveling from the rhythms of Africa to the streets of New Orleans, up the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers, and into the heart of Chicago and beyond.
Through powerful storytelling and authentic musical performance, Barry explores the blues' transformation into one of the most beloved and influential genres across the globe.
Bring a chair, pack a picnic, stop by Dairy Queen for a sweet treat, and enjoy a Ravinia-style evening of live music with LHS!
The Music on Maple Street concert series is made possible with support from the Illinois Arts Council Agency and the JCS Fund of the DuPage Foundation.
