Students in any grade in a Lombard, Glen Ellyn, or Villa Park elementary, middle or high school are invited to enter the 2021 Lombard Historical Society Sheldon Peck Art & Essay Contest. As their submission, contestants will have the option of creating an original journal entry, or work of art, inspired by the work of Sheldon Peck.

Students may choose to write an essay in the form of a journal entry or create a work of art in any medium, that is inspired by Sheldon Peck, as their submission. Copies of original source material and documents will be available online so that students can learn about Sheldon Peck and his work as an itinerant folk artist, radical abolitionist, and conductor on the Underground Railroad.
