Discover the remarkable history of Camp Grant, one of the nation's largest World War I training camps, located just outside Rockford. From preparing thousands of American soldiers for overseas service to becoming the site of one of the deadliest military outbreaks during the 1918 influenza pandemic, Camp Grant left an enduring mark on both local and national history.

Join us at the Carriage House as we explore the camp's role during both World Wars, the human toll of the 1918 influenza pandemic, and the lasting legacy of a place that shaped generations of soldiers.

The program will be presented by Dan Wykes, a longtime reenactor and costumed interpreter at Midway Village Museum for nearly 20 years. Dan was also instrumental in developing the museum's Camp Grant exhibit, drawing on years of research and a passion for bringing local history to life.
