View the new documentary by Lombardian Tim Frakes: Sheldon Peck: Portrait of An Ordinary Man in Extraordinary Times. This is a free event open to the public.
The Sheldon Peck Homestead - directly west across Grace street from the Community Building - will be open from 6-6:45 pm on Jan 31 before the movie showing.
Sheldon Peck was a 19th century renowned folk art portrait artist, radical abolitionist, progressive advocate for temperance and public education, and conductor on the Underground Railroad. And he lived right here in Lombard (then called Babcock’s Grove) at Grace and Parkside!
